Components Ordering database (COMPONENT)

Lists of components determined by the Bill-of-Materials system are grouped, edited and split into individual schedules of materials to be used in purchase contracts.

The lists of required components and purchase level assemblies produced by the Bill of Materials system is used as input for the ordering system.

Orders are compiled from component lists that are sorted according to product type of each of several suppliers - Castings, Steel Stock, Nuts, Bolts and Washers, Concrete, Paint etc.

The quantities of required components is edited to account for any surplus stock on hand (Quantities on hand being sourced from the Depot Stock Control system).

The resulting lists of required components is printed as schedulers for purchase contracts. and also passed to the Depot Stock Control system as tables of components expected from the contractors in order to track the progress of deliveries.
